In Progress

so little time, too much to do …

Mondays. That day in the week a lot of us dreaded. A number of emails to read, reports to analyze and understand, meetings, presentations, so on and so forth. At the office alone, there’s so many things you need to attend to but with little time to spare. Becoming productive on Mondays, hmmmm, let’s just say it’s a daunting task to do. I remember my uni days with endless reports and assignments, thesis, research plus a handful of subjects to study for exams the next day. Ugh! these were the moments I wish I had a superpower to read everything in a short time but with full understanding and higher retention. Later did I realize that yeah, while this is a superpower, it ain’t impossible to achieve through practice and discipline. Well, I’m talking about speed reading.

Speed reading isn’t just about reading an article, book or whatever in the shortest possible time. It is about reading with less time but with full comprehension. I really got interested with the topic especially  there’s a lot of controversy surrounding the effectiveness of the methods being employed, so I  thought of writing a book about it and maybe see for myself if this indeed works for me.

Speed reading is not for everyone and can’t be applicable all the time. Well, it depends on the purpose of your reading. Obviously, if you’re a businessman you don’t have a luxury of time to read those emails and reports while your competitors are already deciding on their next move. You have to be quick in making business decisions. On the other hand, you don’t want to be quick when reading your favorite novel because this is your form of entertainment. Some say speed reading comes with time as you keep reading more and more, while others argue that there are proven methods that make speed reading possible in no less time.

Well, I can’t wait to share my next book with you and so excited to hear your thoughts!

Will you be the next reading speedster?
